Auxiliary

The Auxiliary is a vital, long standing integral part of SBYC. It provides an opportunity for men and women to get involved, make new friends and meet new members. Our objective is to encourage and support the spirit of fellowship among its members through organized yearly programs, run and manage the Ship Store, support the Junior Program and Sand Crabs and to assist the Spray Beach Yacht Club financially. Some of our year long activities include Book Club, Bridge, Bunco, Golf, Mah Jongg, and Walking for fitness. Our summer programs often include arts and crafts, games, dinner, outings, movies and special interest events.

Greetings and Happy Spring 2023

Barnacle Book Club

Join us in the large clubhouse and you’ll find good company and interesting discussions of usually interesting books. For a list of current books we are reading or additional info, please contact Monica Kanopka or Lorraine Blazewicz.

Bridge

The tournament begins the last Monday in June and continues for 8 weeks.
Please contact Pauline Harris or Carol Rockafellow for more info.

Walking For Fitness Exercise Class

Join us for a low-impact workout using videos by Leslie Sansone. This is a FREE indoor video walking session. Keep your heart rate moving and increase your metabolism with 45 to 60 minutes of in-place walking moves that target your lower body, core, and upper body. You make the session as intense or as easy as you like. We vary the workout by adding resistance bands and light weights.  All fitness levels are welcome! Wear sneakers and comfortable clothing and bring water and a towel if desired. SBYC Members only please. Contact Maggie Culley.

Mah Jongg

Mah Jongg (also known as Mahjong) is an ancient Chinese game played with tiles. It's a game for beginners to advanced and has become popular with over 35 SBYC women. Many of us will help teach the new player. You only need to own the yearly game card, which can be ordered from the National Mah Jongg League. Many of us own the tiles necessary to play. It is not necessary to buy a game. Come join us in the main club house during the season and in the small club house during the off season. If you are new to the group, be sure Pat Powers gets your email address in order to inform you when the club house is not available for our use, due to pre-scheduled events.

Golf

The ladies play both 9 holes and 18 holes. All levels are invited to join us. We have great fun and always plan to do lunch after our rounds.  Contact Marie Colasurdo
