Membership in the Spray Beach Yacht Club is based on a sponsorship program.
Our Club depends upon the membership to govern and operate its programs. Volunteerism is the key to our success, and helps to build relationships with fellow members. Everyone is expected to make a contribution of time by helping with boating activities, social events and semi-annual work weekends.
Club management is composed of flag officers and a board of governors. We operate under our By-laws, with a committee structure chaired by members. There is a two-year probational membership period, leading to proprietary membership with full voting privileges.
New members can anticipate paying an initiation fee and annual dues. Boat slips and junior programs are assessed annually. Boat slip application is available only to non-probationary members.
SBYC offers the following membership types:
Senior: an individual not less than 25 years of age.
Intermediate: a non-married individual not less than 19 nor more than 24 years of age.
Junior: an individual not less than 7 nor more than 18 years of age whose parent(s), grandparent(s) or guardians(s) are active members of SBYC.
